Acting as a B Corp

We are a B Corp

Camst group has become a B Corp. We have obtained certification from B Lab, the international non-profit organization that promotes a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy. The certification is reserved for companies that operate according to the highest standards of social and environmental performance. We are now part of a global movement of nearly 10,000 businesses committed to using business as a force for good. This milestone—achieved in the year of our eightieth anniversary—strengthens our identity as a Benefit Cooperative Company and formalizes a commitment that is now measured and verified by an independent third party through the rigorous B Impact Assessment standards. Becoming a B Corp also enables us to join a network where collaboration and the sharing of innovative practices generate the energy needed to help build a fairer, more sustainable future.

Sustainability as relationships

We believe that sustainability means building sound relationships, giving back value and being present in a tangible, accountable way. Our sustainability is nourished by real relationships, such as when we supply schools not just with quality catering, but also with a promise for our planet’s future. Dialoguing with stakeholders is an essential precondition for being a sustainable enterprise and is a strategic factor in setting effective business targets. Our approach to engagement is structured and involves a large array of stakeholders. We use a wide variety of tools to keep this dialogue alive at all times. The information and expectations we gather constitute a fundamental input for continued growth together and for the construction of strategic alliances that enable us first to implement sustainability and then to give account of what we have done.

Partners, vendors, customers

We feel responsible to both our own people and the entire value chain. This responsibility is expressed in a balance between the protection of privacy, operating efficiency and a safe working environment. Our commitment starts with the lawful, ethical, accountable processing of data and the building of sound relationships and a transparent dialogue with our partners. Our aim is to promote an ecosystem of organisations that adopt our principles of integrity and sustainability, to ensure that the positive impact of our business extends all the way to the consumer and communities.

Value chain

Our collaboration with our vendors is based on clear principles, defined in our code of ethics and vendor code of conduct. These documents commit our partners to respecting human rights, prohibiting child and forced labour and promoting freedom of trade union association, equal treatment and occupational health and safety, in line with the ILO Conventions and the SA8000 standard.
