Climate change
More aware, more effective
Environmental sustainability is something we do every day, which guides our operating and strategic choices. We tackle the challenge of climate change with a hands-on approach, based on the knowledge that every action has an impact and to reduce our environmental impact we first have to identify it in details. Therefore, we have adopted a scientific approach. The data collected are the compass that guides our integrated plan of action, which runs from energy efficiency through to direct engagement of our people, because caring for the planet is a shared responsibility.
The agreement with the planet
You can’t improve what you don’t measure. Therefore, in 2023 we conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) on the organisation to identify our environmental impacts. We consolidated this process in 2025 by updating the assessment with 2024 data. This map is the foundation on which we will build our decarbonisation plan.
Investments in energy efficiency
In 2024 we reduced our primary energy use by almost 163,000 kWh. In catering, the average energy use per meal decreased by 24% (compared to the 2017-2020 average). In facility services, energy consumption per square metre of offices decreased by 5.31% compared to the previous year. We also invested in training. With the “Accendiamo il risparmio energetico” [“Turn on energy saving”] project, we set out to raise employees’ awareness of their daily energy choices, starting from small actions. We then held a competition between kitchens to reward those with the best results.
Company fleet
We have renewed the company fleet. In 2024 we registered 55 new Euro 6D vehicles, replacing obsolete ones with more efficient models with lower emissions impact.
ISO 5001 extended to the facility services division
We have extended ISO 50001 energy management certification to the facility services division.
