Customer health and safety

The goodness of food is more than its taste

We believe that guaranteeing customers’ health and safety means going beyond compliance with health and safety regulations. Our aim is to satisfy nutritional needs to ever-improving standards with diversified, balanced menus, but that is not all. We also promote a sustainable, healthy diet with an intelligent approach to food production and consumption, nutritional needs and the protection of ecosystems and cultures.

Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of and interested in a healthy, sustainable diet: food also means culture and a link to the land, with implications that extend more and more beyond the physiological need for nourishment. Therefore, in Camst’s menus, compliance with customer health and safety regulations goes hand-in-hand with seasonality, organic produce and other aspects of sustainability. Camst’s adoption of ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and ISO 22005 certifications bears witness to its voluntary commitment to going beyond the minimum legal requirements through quality, food safety and traceability management systems.

Training for safety

We view the appropriate training of staff in food safety and the correct handling of foods as essential, to maintain optimal hygiene practices during meal preparation and thus prevent contamination and ensure the safety of the foods served.

A team of more than 100 nutritionists and dieticians support us in the development of balanced, healthy menus that meet the highest nutritional standards and actively contribute to nutrition education. In school catering above all, Camst runs awareness-raising and information projects addressed to the children, their parents and their teachers, about the value of a sustainable, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

The programme that’s good for the planet

To communicate these topics to the school catering stakeholders effectively and organically, Camst has created the “Cresciamo insieme per il bene del pianeta” [“Growing together for the good of the planet”] programme, a package of activities run in person and remotely for the schools it serves. The activities also include webinars for parents and teachers that explore environmental challenges and suggest practical solutions for a more sustainable future.
