Sfridoo: giving the company’s unused equipment a new life
In 2021 Camst group launched the first edition of its innovation call for startups active in the food, retail and facility management sectors, with the aim of developing innovative solutions in these areas together. One of the organisations chosen to run co-innovation projects with Camst was Sfridoo, a startup that helps companies to maximise the value of scrap, by-products, secondary raw materials and surplus stock on circular economy principles. For our organisation, Sfridoo created an internal marketplace called Riusoo, where unused company equipment can gain a new life through a portal similar to those where members of the public can buy and sell their property. Equipment or furniture no longer of use in a kitchen or restaurant can be uploaded to the portal by Camst group employees and acquire a new lease of life in our company’s other kitchens or restaurants instead of being scrapped as surplus to requirements. Apart from “recycling” company property, this co-innovation project also aims to generate economic savings, increase efficiency in the use of resources and directly engage employees in this recycling good practice.
