Last Minute Market: combatting food waste

Camst group partners Last Minute Market in the fight against food waste, supporting its “Spreco Zero” [“Zero Waste”] campaign held for the 11th time in 2024.

The campaign’s main aim is to raise the awareness of the public, the authorities and businesses about the importance of preventing waste and spreading good practices for the recycling of food surpluses, thus reducing the costs and impacts of their disposal. Within the “Spreco Zero” campaign, Camst group supports Italy’s National Food Waste Prevention Day, created by the organisation’s founder Prof. Andrea Segrè and sponsored by the Ministries of the Environment and Foreign Affairs. Through the “Vivere a Spreco Zero” [“Zero Waste Living”] awards, which present sustainability Oscars to members of the public, schools, public sector organisations, businesses and associations every year, Camst group sustains one of the categories designated by the organisers to reward commitment and good practices in the reduction and combatting of food waste.   The partnership’s aim is to reduce food waste and raise awareness of the issue.
