1 product that combines quality and social value, supporting the continuity of a concrete path of vocational training and job placement.
1 The context
In social reintegration programmes, work can become a decisive factor in developing autonomy, skills and new prospects. Inside prisons, vocational training plays a particularly important role because it makes it possible to build practical experience that is also useful after release.
In this context, collaboration between businesses, the cooperative system and third-sector organisations makes it possible to launch projects that combine job inclusion, corporate social responsibility and the development of skills within concrete production processes.
2 The initiative
The Caciotta della Dozza project, promoted by Granarolo, was born inside the Rocco D’Amato prison in Bologna and involves the production of a caciotta cheese made with the involvement of inmates.
Participants take part in dairy processing activities, following a training and mentoring path with industry professionals. In this way, the project allows them to acquire skills related to food production and to engage with an activity organised according to the processes, timescales and standards of the sector.
Camst group takes part in the project as a partner, buying the product and helping to promote it through distribution in its self-service restaurants in the Bologna metropolitan area. The initiative also involves Fare Impresa in Dozza, Avoc, Cefal Emilia-Romagna and Coop Alleanza 3.0, creating a local network that links training, work, production and corporate social responsibility.
3 The result
The positive impact of the project lies in building a structured path that combines professional learning, hands-on experience and opportunities for reintegration. Through the production of Caciotta della Dozza, the people involved can develop skills in the dairy sector within an activity focused on quality, collaboration and continuity.
Camst group’s participation helps to support and give visibility to an initiative that generates shared value, linking the business world, the cooperative system and the third sector. In this way, the project strengthens a vision of social sustainability based on work, skills and local relationships, with a direct impact on people and the community.
