16 years of collaboration between Camst group and Last Minute Market, since the launch of the Spreco Zero Campaign in 2010, to promote food waste prevention and a culture of responsible consumption.
1 The context
The strategic partnership between Camst group and Last Minute Market, a social enterprise and spin-off of the University of Bologna, stems from a shared desire to combat food waste and raise awareness of the value of food. The collaboration includes support for the permanent national campaign “Spreco Zero” and the “Vivere a Spreco Zero” award, and is part of Camst group’s wider commitment to food education projects for the younger generations.
2 The initiative
Part of this journey is Sprecometro, the app that allows students and teachers to measure and record data on uneaten food in school canteens, as well as access dedicated training paths and teaching materials. The tool was also adopted as part of the Sprecometro Challenge, launched at the United World College of the Adriatic in Duino for students from 84 countries. The project consists of an initial phase measuring waste in the canteen, followed by a challenge between the College’s seven residences, with a food donation to a local charity as a symbolic prize.
3 The result
Our long-standing collaboration with Last Minute Market strengthens our role as a food service company committed to raising awareness and educating people about the value of food, starting with children in schools and the school and family community, and going on to convey more clearly the environmental consequences of our food choices.
