Diversity and inclusion
Inclusion is a great opportunity
Motivation and engagement are indispensable tools for us to make room for inclusion and diversity. To disrupt unconscious biases and encourage positive behaviors, in 2023 we implemented an internal communication campaign conveyed on the People App focused on all types of diversity; cultural and ethnic differences; physical and intellectual diversity; diversity, equity & inclusion; age and physical characteristics; gender and sexual orientation.
In recent years, marked by significant changes, the organization has undergone major transformations. As a result, resistance to change has become a critical issue that has been addressed through training and learning paths.
Camst has identified the ability to engage and motivate employees as a key factor, developing a series of initiatives designed to promote closeness, empathy and collaboration.
Shortening distances with Apps and Ambassadors
In this context, the creation of the People App responded to the need to involve employees more in company activities, reducing distances between people and different functions. The use of digital made it possible to reach all workers in a widespread way, while the People Desk was strengthened with the launch of the "Ambassador Project."
Increasingly inclusive
Change management is also closely linked to the ability to include varying degrees of diversity. Given the strong female presence, the focus has been on gender diversity, enhancing women's potential and providing opportunities for growth through management training for leadership development and mentorship paths.
The adoption of ISO guideline 30415 (Human Resource Management-Diversity and Inclusion), initiated an initial measurement and evaluation of policies, procedures and practices, through which areas for improvement and actions to be implemented were identified.
Based on these premises, the D,E&I (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) group was created during 2023. As a natural outcome of this journey, the gender certification process (PdR 125:2022) was initiated and successfully completed in March 2024.
Bounding beyond gender equality
The issue of D,E&I for Camst is not only limited to gender equality or internal cultural differences, but is also declined in terms of the inclusion of that portion of foreign workers who make up our corporate population-a diversity that enriches our work environment with new perspectives and skills.
