The supply chain: vendor responsibility and sustainability
The values that bind us, strengthen the whole chain
Fostering the local economy and companies that adopt sustainable agricultural practices, preserving consumer trust and confidence, promoting safe and decent working conditions, supporting local economies, and qualifying suppliers and the entire supply process. These are some of the actions that make our supply chain increasingly sustainable.
Sustainable supply chain management is an indispensable pillar in corporate sustainability strategies, as it aims to reduce the environmental impact of the entire production cycle through careful and responsible resource management.
Purchasing policies
At the Group level, and in particular for Catering, purchasing policies follow an approach based on safeguarding environmental aspects that is reflected in the choice of organic, fair trade, sustainable fishing (MSC - Marine Stewardship Council - certified products), EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) and sourcing of agri-food products with denomination of origin and short territorial supply chain. In addition, Camst uses Ecolabel detergents and compostable disposable accessories.
Certified suppliers
We have defined specific criteria and methods for qualifying and evaluating the supply chain that enable inclusion on the list of qualified suppliers. As stated in the Supplier Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct, we are committed to ensuring that suppliers operate within a framework of absolute legality and in full protection of the environment and human rights.
Almost all of the suppliers of group companies operating in Italy are of Italian origin. This choice is motivated by policies that favor direct purchases from producers, thus helping to stimulate and support the local and regional economy.
