Quality is the result of constant control, which we have entrusted to a specific internal structure. In addition to the monitoring and continuous improvement of the entire system, the experts who comprise it ensure technical and scientific advice on quality and food hygiene to all company functions.
For us, quality means on the one hand offering a service that responds to customer demands and needs, and on the other hand accurately measuring the relative degree of customer satisfaction. The data processed are valuable ingredients that allow us to periodically assess the suitability of management systems (quality, food safety and traceability) and then transfer them to the company management and certification body with the aim of improving the operational and quality level of Camst's catering offerings.
Specialists in food quality and hygiene
To ensure the constant monitoring and optimization of our entire system (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 22005), a specific structure of 15 qualified technicians has been created to provide quality and food hygiene advice to all corporate functions and Group companies. Each year a plan of audits is drawn up by the Integrated Systems and Sustainability manager and submitted to the general management for approval. The plan is then shared with the internal auditors who schedule the audits. As required by the integrated management system, audits are unannounced in order to ensure greater effectiveness in verifying the degree of knowledge and awareness of requirements by operational staff.
The Operation office, established as part of the Collective Operations Department, is responsible for integrating policies, objectives and communication between headquarters and production facilities, so as to improve the operational and quality level of offerings in the area of collective catering (raw materials, recipes and menus).
Quality of raw materials under control
Continuous improvement of our service involves controlling the quality of raw materials used for meal preparation and through the selection and monitoring of the supply chain. The control is carried out with planned checks at the receipt of goods and throughout the production process. Monitoring activities are carried out through the self-control plan adopted at Camst premises. Sampling on raw materials is carried out at the catering premises and distribution center, as well as on finished products and through environmental swabs.
In 2023 we carried out more than 900 inspections from internal, external and third-party agencies.
